WORLD POPULATION DAY

The faculty of Community Health Nursing department and students of II Semester B.Sc nursing , celebrated World Population Day on 11th July 2023 ,at 11 am, in the auditorium. The theme of the day was “Unleashing the power of gender equality: Uplifting the voice of women and girls to unlock our worlds infinite possibilities”.The function began with a prayer song  by Ms.Sony and team (II Semester B.Sc Nursing students). Ms.Jesna K.Somi(II Semester B.Sc Nursing student) , delivered  the welcome speech. The theme of the day was launched by Mrs.Sathyasri. R (HOD Mental health nursing) ,followed by inaugural address. Felicitations were given by Ms.Ushas Jose, Professor, Community health nursing department and  Mr. Liju James, Associate professor, Mental health nursing department,Nehru College of Nursing.

This was followed by an elocution competition and essay writing competition for the  II nd Semester B.Sc nursing students.The venue for elocution competition was II Semester B.Sc nursing class room and the venue for essay writing competition was III Year   B.Sc nursing class room.The judges  for elocution competition were  Ms.Ushas Jose and  Mr.Liju James.  The judges for  essay writing competition were Mrs .Shincy  K and Ms .Sruti S. This was followed by a small video presentation by UNFPA , on the significance of  celebrating  the world health day every year.The programme was  concluded by vote of thanks by Ms.Nandana M.C (II Semester B.Sc Nursing student)  and national anthem at 12.30 pm.
