LAMP LIGHTING CEREMONEY of 9th Batch

The lamp lighting ceremony is an auspicious occasion in every nurse’s life, held in reverence to Florence Nightingale; It is the first step on the path to a divine & noble profession. The budding nurses, adorned in their uniforms for the first time, formally mark the student’s entry into the nursing profession. With a lit candle it means that they will pass on the flame of hope, service, compassion and peace.

Lamp Lighting Ceremony of 9th batch B.Sc. Nursing students of Nehru College of nursing was held on 31.07.2021 at 10.30 am.   Maj.Gen. Elizabeth John (Former ADGMNS) executed the chief guest for the ceremony. Dr. Prof. Kavitha Mole P J (Principal Nehru College of Nursing ) welcomed the gathering &  Honourable Chairman & Managing Trustee, NGI, Adv. Dr. P. Krishnadas delivered the presidential address.   Felicitation was given by                   Dr. R.C Krishnakumar (. Director (Operations), PKDIMS); Dr MA Andrews, (Principal, PKDIMS ); Dr. Rajan (Medical Superintendent, PKDIMS); Mrs. Sumitha Krishnadas,                   (Management Representative, NGI); Mr. Varkey George, PTA President, NCN  )

All 1st year students lighted the lamp from their teachers which symbolises the flame of hope, service, compassion and peace & a new beginning.  The students Vowed to work by following the principles & ideas of nursing by taking the pledge recited by Dr. Prof. Kavitha Mole P J,(Principal, Nehru College of Nursing.) The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Mrs. Kumari Haripriya OB, Vice Principal, Nehru College of Nursing
