WORLD HEART DAY THEME 2023
This year the theme is “Use Heart, Know Heart”,a reminder call to everyone around the world to take care of their hearts. The theme emphasizes the crucial process of getting to know one’s heart first; because one can only love and protect what they are aware of. In a world where knowledge about heart health is limited and policies are insufficient or lacking, the day aims to shatter barriers and empower individuals to take control of their well-being, as the theme depicts when we know more ,we can take care better.
Nehru College of Nursing conducted an Awareness session as part of World Heart day on 29/9/2023 in collaboration with the Department of Community medicine and Quality Department of PKDIMS in PKDIMS. Dr Lovely Livingston,AP, Department of community Medicine welcomed the gathering.Dr R.C KrishnaKumar, Director (operations) PKDIMS inaugurated the session.The felicitation was done by Dr Andrews, Principal PKDIMS and Prof. Dr Srinivasan.G, Principal Nehru College of Nursing. Health awarness session was conducted by Dr. Vanithamani, Cardiothoracic Surgeon PKDIMS. A mock drill on code blue was done by emergency department faculty of PKDIMS. Health talk on preventive aspects of cardiothoracic diseases was presented by Dr Pradeesh CB, AP Department of community Medicine. The students of Nehru college of Nursing performed a thematic dance.
