PANEL DISCUSSION – WORLD HEPATITIS DAY

The world is currently facing a new outbreak of unexplained acute hepatitis infections affecting children. This new outbreak brings focus on thousands of acute viral hepatitis infections that occur among children, adolescents and adults every year. ‘I can’t wait’ is the new campaign theme to launch World Hepatitis Day 2022. It will highlight the need to accelerate the fight against viral hepatitis and the importance of testing and treatment for the real people who need it. The campaign will amplify the voices of people affected by viral hepatitis calling for immediate action and the end of stigma and discrimination

On behalf of world hepatitis day 2022 , 4th year BSc Nursing students had organized a panel discussion on current updates of hepatitis management, on 25th July 2022, 2:00 pm at Conference hall. A  Panel discussion is the hallmark of modern conferences and events, even virtual ones. The purpose of a panel discussion is to spark conversation between a group of experts or industry and thought leaders, so that the audience can learn from their discourse and interaction. Ms. Roniya (4th year BSc Nursing) was the moderator of the panel discussion, who had given the introduction, and had over all control of the discussion. There were six panelist, Ms. Alousiya Rachel, Ms. Aparna, Ms. Hilda Emmanual, Mr. Vishnu, Ms. Rizani, they  explained  various aspects of  hepatitis, regarding, incidence, causes, signs and symptoms, Diagnosis and monitoring, Goals of hepatitis management, current treatment measures, social stigma surrounding hepatitis B, Preventive measures and liver Health, the audience also contributed their points towards the discussion. Lt. Col Regina P F ( Asso Prof NCN ) , Ms. Zaina Elizabath ( Asso  Prof NCN ) , Mrs. Aswani. B ( Asst Prof NCN ) evaluated the panel discussion. Moderator concluded the discussion and evaluators shared their opinions and concepts regarding the program
