Enriching the faculty vitality in key domains of teaching, assessing, research, professionalism, and administration is perceived to improve educational environment significantly and enhances the academic performance of learners. Faculty development program (FDP) has been considered as a stand-alone educational pedagogy in fostering knowledge and professional skills of faculty
The Community Health Nursing Department, Nehru College of Nursing, Vaniyamkulam conducted Faculty Development Programme MERAKI 2K22 titled “The way to enhance innovative and creative knowledge” held from 14th March 2022 to 18th March 2022.
The FDP begun with official inauguration on the 14th March 2022 by our beloved Management Representative Mrs. Sumitha Krishna Das. The first day session was dealt by resource person Dr. Kavitha Chalakkal ,assistant professor, IUCIPRS, CUSAT Cochin on the topic “ Intellectual Property Rights “.The session was more informative and enriched the knowledge of nursing faculty regarding property rights, justification ,IPR development ,artistic property & copy rights The second day session was regarding Creativity by Dr. Subramania Bharathi Director Administration And Accreditation Nehru Groups Of Institutions. The session was very useful and informative .The third session was regarding Assertiveness by Mr. Seby Paulose general manager PK Das Institute Of Medical Sciences . The session was very informative and ensure the faculty to be assertive in their profession .The fourth day session was regarding Stress Management by Dr Priya E A ,Principal Dhanalakshmi College Of Nursing ,Kannur which was a very good interactive session on practicing stress relieving techniques .The 5th day session was on Communication Skill by Mrs. Diana James, South Indian Bank Kalamassery .the session was very useful and informative .
Faculty development programme makes teachers aware of what they do, asks them why, and challenges them to continually do it better. Professional development strengthens the affective, intellectual, and social aspects of academic life.
