INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR ON “BREAST FEEDING – INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE”
The day highlights the benefits that breastfeeding can bring to both the health and welfare of babies. The day also focuses on maternal health, good nutrition, poverty reduction, etc. The best source of nourishment for infants and young children is breastfeeding. It is a proven lifesaving strategy that helps in protecting children against various common childhood illnesses like diarrhoea and pneumonia. The theme of world breast feeding week 2021 was “Protect Breastfeeding: A Shared Responsibility”
Keeping this in mind and to raise awareness regarding the importance of breastfeeding, The Department of Child Health Nursing and Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological (OBG) Nursing of Nehru College of Nursing organized International Webinar on “Breast Feeding –International Perspective” through virtual platform for the nurses and faculty members from India and abroad . The webinar was attended by 133 participants.
Mrs. Aswini B Assistant Professor, Department of Paediatrics presented the welcome address and welcomed all the Guests, speakers and participants, and expressed her sincere honour to have such a program during the pandemic. Scientific paper presentation was done by 16 participants from various institutions across the country.
