Nehru Women Excellence Awards

Nehru Arts and Science College has initiated the Nehru Centre for Women Excellence on 7th November 2017 with the aim of providing various training, awareness and life-guiding program to the female students and rural and urban women to compete with the competitive world. The center has various plans to elevate the lifestyle and social status of women. Other women related committees such as Sexual Harassment, Women Empowerment and Grievance Redressal are functioning in the college under the able guidance of Nehru Centre for Women Excellence.

AWARD CATEGORY

Nehru Women Excellence Awards recognize the inspirational women around us who are distinguished for their outstanding work within one of the fields that we have selected. Our aim is to empower women. The NWEA hopes to encourage more women to become more visible and not hide their potential but showcase their skills and abilities to bring positive change in the world. This platform hankers to bring more gender balance and equality.

Here are the categories for Nehru Women Excellence Awards:

Field: Social Work

1	Daughter of the soil	Open to all social workers who worked with Selflessness and dedication with the aim to save, enrich, inspire or improve the lives of others.
2	Making a Difference	Open to all social workers who are NOT employed by a Local Authority
3	Championing Social Work Values	Open to all qualified social workers and teams, Organisations or networks who have been champions for the value base of social work through their work or other activities.

Field: Education

1	Top in the Class	Anyone who has strengthened our education system with new ideas, engaging techniques and learning networks
2	Mental Health and Well Being	This award is focused on education sector’s to promoting mental health as part of education sector through meditation
3	Excellence in Special needs Education	This award is to recognize the Teachers working with children with special educational like yoga, aerobics.

Field: Vision AND TECHNOLOGY

1	The Originals	This award is to recognize a woman who is innovative, a visionary and creative
2	Digital Innovator	This award is to recognize a woman who is digital innovator
3	Tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam	This award is to recognize a woman who is innovative through the growth of nuclear technology, space technology and defense technology

Field: Business and Entrepreneurship

1	Game Changer	This award will be given to a woman entrepreneur at the helm of a small business of under 20 employees.
2	Innovative Start-Up of the Year	This award will be given to a woman business owner / founder of an organization, who has developed a unique business model and has made remarkable progress in the initial period of starting the business. (Organization should be less than 7 years)
3	Angel Investor of the Year	This award will be given to an individual Woman investor who has show great vision in identifying and assisting Start-ups , Entrepreneurs ,SME’s.

Field: Environment

1	Eco Revolutionist	This award is to recognize the woman who is involved in ecological movements, activism and solutions, greening the Earth etc.
2	Recycling & Waste Management	This award is to recognize the woman for the contribution in waste reduction, re-use and recycling
3	Green Economy	This award is to recognize the woman for a business organization that provides a product, service or programme that supports the growth of the Green Economy.

Field: Arts

1	Arts for Life’s Sake	This award is to recognize the woman who concentrated on upkeep of tradition, new adaptations, and empowerment through art.
2	Legacy Award	This award is to recognize the women who have played a key role in helping to sustain the infrastructure of support for the arts in our country and in shaping our nation’s cultural policy
3	Special Recognition	This award is to an artist, organization, or individual who has either displayed exemplary artistic accomplishments in their field or made a significant contribution to cultural development.

Field: Entertainment

1	I Entertain, Therefore I Am	This award is to recognize the woman who is a force in media. The best campaigns or projects initiated by women in entertainment and culture organizations
2	Digital Entertainer	Entries in this category are for digital media, but are not limited to websites, social media, applications, and user-generated content.
3	Excellence in Interactive Games	Entries in this category are for interactive games, but it is not limited to console, mobile, and web-based games.

Field: Sports
