World Cancer Day
World Cancer Day, organized by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and celebrated each year on 4 February, is an opportunity to rally the international community to end the injustice of preventable suffering from cancer.
The theme for World Cancer Day 2021 is ‘I Am and I Will.’ This year is a reminder of the enduring power of cooperation and collective action. It is observed to raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding the disease that is the second leading cause of death globally.
Third year Bsc nursing students fron Nehru College Of Nursing, Vaniyamkulam conducted WORLD CANCER DAY PROGRAMME on 4/2/2021 through Google platform. The objectives of the program were to create awareness to the parents regarding cancer prevention. . The programme was coordinated by Mr. Shahul Hameed, asst. professor , and Mrs. Sreelekha R Lecturer Dept. of Medical Surgical Nursing CN, Vaniyamkulam Student representative Ms. Roniya and Ms. Aparna AS delivered a session on prevention of cancer among people. The session was concluded by the open discussion facilitated by students representatives from IIIrd year BSc Nursing student. Parents identified the program as effective and beneficial.
