LINE OF LIFE – State level workshop- World heart day 2022

Nowadays, nursing is developed and evolved parallel to the advances of other sciences. Factors such as brilliant growth of professional knowledge, the desire toward occupational promotion, clients’ demands to receive new standard services as well as rapid changes in health and treatment, all emphasize on the nurses’ needs for their adaptation with necessary professional changes and designing educational programs to fulfill these learning needs.

Every year, over 17 million people die from heart disease. As a way to fight this, the World Heart Federation created World Heart Day. It’s an event held every year on September 29.

With regards to the World heart day 2022 Nehru College of Nursing organized a state level workshop in two consecutive days 29th& 30thSep  2022 which was officially inaugurated by Mrs Sumitha Krishnadas (Management representative NGI)&  offered wishes to the event. The workshop have KNMC Credit hours – C/ 69997/2022/NC-CNE.

On the first day of the event,  the efficient professors of Nehru College of Nursing dealt with theory & practical sessions of ACLS & BLS . Our principal Dr Kavithamole  P J dealt the topic Basics of adult BLS, Bag & mask ventilation, AED & the practical sessions was covered by Vice Principal Prof A Priya Mary Stella. Lt Col Regina P F associate professor NCN discussed child & infant BLS theory & practical sessions. Dr BinuBabu Professor NCN explained the chocking management in adult & child.

On the second day Mr JerilCheriyan(MSc Nursing, Principal MWT Global academy Pvt Lt Ernakulum) had given a thorough – detailed session on electro cardio gram. Sessions on both these days were very informative which really helped the students knowing that possessing these skills can increase the confidence level, especially if they  work in a field that requires them  to interact with vulnerable people.
