WORLD BREAST FEEDING WEEK CELEBRATION 2021

Breastfeeding is the process of feeding Human breast milk to a child either directly from the breast or by expressing the milk from the breast and bottle feeding it to the infant. The WHO recommends that begin with in First hours of  a babies life  and continue  as often as much as   the baby wants..

World breast feeding day was celebrated on 4/08/2021 at   Family Health Centre, Vaniymkulam  by IV year Bsc Nursing Students. The program was started by a prayer song. The gathering was   welcomed by Mrs. Aswani. B. Assistant professor  Child Health Nursing and  presidential address was given by Mr Suresh Thambi Health Inspector FHC Vaniyamkulam. The Programme was Inaugurated y Dr Jubina Fasal. Felicitation was given by Mrs. Indira LHI.

Then Health Education program was  given on the topic about Importance of  exclusive and expressed breast feeding, Preparation for Breast feeding Diet to be followed during Breast feeding,  types of breast milk, positions during giving feeding, after care of baby, the session was delivered  by  Mr.Ashique,  Ms. Anjana Jolly, Ms. Angel Thomas. People Came for OPD sessions and immunization at the PHC had attended the sessions.  Vote of Thanks  was given by Mrs. Shincy. K, Lecturer, Community health Nursing.

This kinds of awareness programmes helps to acquire desirable knowledge regarding breast feeding and improve the health of babies, thus by we can build  healthy Community.
