Onam Celebration
The Nehru International School joyously celebrated the vibrant festival of Onam on the 25th August, 2023 within the school premises. The event was marked by a diverse range of performances and activities that showcased the spirit of unity and festivity.
Event Highlights:
Welcoming the Chief Guest:
The event commenced with the mesmerizing beats of Chenda Melam and the spirited performance of Puli Kali dancers, inviting the Chief Guest to the stage.
Prayer Song and Welcome Address:
The school Choir Group delivered a soulful Prayer Song, invoking a sense of harmony and togetherness. This was followed by the warm welcome address by the Chief Guest. Dr. Krishnakumar, CEO & Secretary of NGI and Dr. Chaithanya KrishanKumar, Correspondent of NIS & NKA, who provided insightful remarks about the significance of Onam Followed by Mr. K.S. Sivaprakash, Principal, and Ms. Priya Suresh, Headmistress then HR team extended their Onam wishes to all.
Student Performances:
The students of Grades 6th and 7th captivated the audience with a captivating dance performance, demonstrating their skill and enthusiasm.
Musical Extravaganza:
The celebratory mood was further enhanced by a melodious Group Song presented by Grade 6 & 7 students. Following this, Grade 1 & 2 students enthralled the audience with a graceful dance performance. Grade 4 & 5 students then showcased their musical talents through a captivating group song.
Student Participation:
A notable highlight was the eloquent speech delivered by a student from Grade 5, shedding light on the essence of Onam and its cultural significance. The celebration was enriched by the energetic dance performance put forth by the dedicated teaching staff.
Energetic Dance Performances:
The energetic and spirited dance performances by Grade 6 to 8 boys added a dynamic touch to the event, drawing applause from the attendees. Grade 4 & 5 students also contributed to the celebratory atmosphere with their impressive dance moves.
Closing Ceremony:
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by the Headmistress, expressing gratitude to the management and the entire team for their efforts in organizing this remarkable event. The event’s success was attributed to the collaborative spirit of the school community.
