Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life. To inculcate the leadership qualities in the students every year school conducts Investiture Ceremony, The Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2023-24 was held with great pomp and dignity at Nehru International school.
The Investiture Ceremony at Nehru International School for the academic session 2023-24 was conducted with great grandeur and significance. This prestigious event aimed to instill leadership qualities in students, recognizing that leaders are not born but made through life experiences. The event held at Visveswaraya Hall on 28th July 2023 at 10:00 am, the ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, and enthusiastic students. This report captures the key moments that marked the beginning of a new era of student leadership at Nehru International School.

The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the Flag, accompanied by a respectful escort by the Scout students. This was followed by the rendition of the Tamil Thai Vazhthu. To kick-start the event talented students performed Bharatha Natiyam, captivating the audience with their mesmerizing dance. The proceedings continued with the Head Boy reciting the school prayer, and the school choir group presented a prayer song in English.
The lighting of the ceremonial lamp marked the formal beginning of the event. Mr. K. S. Sivaprakash, the Principal, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the significance of leadership qualities and encouraging students to excel in their endeavours. He assured support to the student council for efficient school administration.
The chief guest of the day, Mrs. Jincy Philip, Deputy Command of CRPF & RAF, Coimbatore, delivered an inspiring address, sharing her life experiences and motivating the students to focus on leadership, simplicity, and physical health. She encouraged them to dream big and quoted the words of the great APJ Abdul Kalam. She passionately spoke about the essence of leadership and stressed the significance of integrity and impartiality in fulfilling responsibilities. Her inspiring words left a lasting impression on the young minds, igniting the spark of leadership within them.
Dr. Chaitanya Krishnakumar, the respected Correspondent of Nehru International School, felicitated the Chief Guest, underlining the school’s commitment to nurturing future leaders. The elected student council members from Ventus House, Aqua House, Terra House, and Ignis House were honored by the dignititaries. With pride and humility, the appointed leaders donned their badges and sashes, symbolizing the weight of their new roles.
Honourable Principal and other esteemed guests bestowed badges and sashes upon the elected leaders. Head boy Harivarshan, Head girl Rituparna Ramdass were introduced and honoured by giving badge and sashes then Sports Captain,P. Aadharshini, Vice-Captain, Hyden Followed by Aqua House Captain Jaswanth, Vice-Captain Mithra, Ignis House Vidhulesh, Vice-Captain Mithra , Terra House Captain Roshan, Vice-Captain, Lakshanya ,Ventus House Captain, Rithikvarshan, Vice-Captain, Shalini Introduced and they honoured by giving sashes followed by all the four houses Head Master and Head Mistress Aqua Esther Marry, Ignis Head Mistress Ms. Radhika Terra Head Master Mr. B. Ramkumar, Ventus House Head Mistress Anuja P. Unni were introduced and honoured with Batches by all dignitaries
The ceremony proceeded with all the house captains taking a solemn oath, pledging to carry out their duties with utmost sincerity and dedication. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and determination as the young leaders vowed to uphold the values and principles of Nehru International School.
The Head Boy and Head Girl of the school addressed the gathering, expressing their gratitude for the trust placed in them. They shared their vision of fostering a culture of inclusivity, cooperation, and academic excellence. Their confidence and determination inspired the audience, assuring them of a bright future under the student council’s leadership.
Dr. Krishnakumar CEO & Secretary encouraged the young students to cultivate positive thoughts and self-confidence to become responsible and upright citizens. The Correspondent also addressed the gathering, commending the Student Council members and emphasizing the importance of impartiality and honesty in their roles.
The event culminated with a heartfelt vote of thanks from the Headmistress. She extended gratitude to all the dignitaries, teachers, and students who contributed to the success of the ceremony. Her words of appreciation filled the hall with warmth and camaraderie.
