WORLD HAND HYGIENE DAY CELEBRATION-2023
Hand hygiene saves millions of lives every year when performed at the right moments during health care delivery. Word hand hygiene day is a global health care event observed on the 5th may every year, intending to unite people worldwide to increase awareness about hand hygiene standards in healthcare facilities, thereby protecting healthcare workers and civilians from infections.
World hand hygiene day 2023 is organized by medical surgical nursing department on 8th May 2023 at NCN auditorium at 4 pm. The program started with welcome speech by Ms. Sivalaya Sagar. III semester B.Sc nursing students conducted a flash mob on importance of hand hygiene followed by a demonstration on steps of hand hygiene. Also a mime was conducted to show the “5 moments of hand hygiene” in a health care setting and revealed the theme of world hand hygiene day 2023 – “Accelerate action together: Save Lives; Clean your hands”. The program was concluded by vote of thanks by Ms. Aleesha P Joy. The program could rise an awareness on importance, steps and moments of hand hygiene among students.
