WORLD ASTHMA DAY CELEBRATION-2023
World asthma day is a global healthcare event commemorated every year on first Tuesday in every year to promote awareness of asthma worldwide. Asthma is the most frequent chronic condition among children and adults worldwide. According to WHO 26.2 crore people suffer from asthma, with a mortality count of 4.55 lakh globally. This year the world asthma day theme given by global initiative for asthma is “Asthma care for all”. Celebration of world asthma day is to increase global awareness and improve patient care worldwide.
As a part of celebration of world asthma day 2023, department of medical surgical nursing organized programmes on 8th May 2023 at NCN auditorium at 2.30 pm. III semester students conducted a health play based on the theme “asthma care for all” and quiz competition. Students of different batches participated in the quiz competition. Mr. Aadil Rayz, Mr. Abdhul Radheed, Mr. Niranjan L Govind and Mr. Kailas won the first prize in the quiz competition and the winners are awarded by Dr. Binu Babu, Professor, NCN. The program was concluded by vote of thanks by Ms. Aleesha P Joy. The program could raise awareness on asthma care and encouraged a collaborative management measures for asthma patients among students.
