ANTI-RAGGING AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Ragging is a disturbing reality in the higher education system of our country. Despite the fact that over the years ragging has claimed hundreds of innocent lives and has ruined the careers of thousands of bright students, the practice is still perceived by many as a way of ‘familiarization’ and an ‘initiation into the real world’ for young college-going students.
Nehru College of Nursing promoted by Nehru Educational and Charitable Trust runs with the moto of molding true citizens is always determined in building eternally efficient citizens to the society by giving the best quality education. With an aim of accomplishing the motto Nehru College of nursing organized an anti-ragging awareness campaign on 11th Jan 2023 11 am at NCN auditorium. Adv A P Unnikrishnan (Legal & Clinic Coordinator, Nehru Academy of Law ) was the resources person for the session. The session was aiming for making students aware of the laws of the country with respect to ragging and how it affects the lives of people victimized by it. This program really helpful for the students to ensure that no ragging takes place in the Institute and its hostel premises, by promulgating and enforcing stringent anti-ragging measures, and making provisions for deterrent and hard punishment to defaulters.
