PULSE POLIO IMMUNIZATION PROGRAMME 2022
The Pulse Polio Initiative was started with an objective of achieving hundred per cent coverage under Oral Polio Vaccine. It aimed to immunize children through improved social mobilization, plan mop-up operations in areas where poliovirus has almost disappeared and maintain high level of morale among the public. The Pulse Polio Programme 2022 is to commence in India from February 27. The polio drive will be organised, keeping in mind all the COVID-19 specific protocols.
Community Health Nursing Department and NSS unit of Nehru College of Nursing had participated in Pulse Polio immunization programme organised by Family Health Centre Vaniyamkulam on 27th Feb 2022. The programme was inaugurated by Vaniyamkulam panchayath president Mr. .Gangadharan & Other dignitaries were Dr.Sreehari (Medical Officer Family Health Center Vaniamkulam) Mrs Indira (Lady health inspector Vaniyamkulam FHC,) Mrs Sindhu (Ward Member Vaniyamkulam Panchayath ) and other staff of Vaniyamkulam FHC . Around 10 students of 2nd year BSc Nursing were part of this programme along with Mrs.Shincy k Lecturer Nehru College of Nursing .Approximately 82 childrens got vaccinated in this programme in family health center Vaniyamkulam.
