Poshan Pakhwada 2021 – Awareness class at Vaniyamkulam PHC organized by NSS volunteers of Medallions
Ministry of Women and Child Development had celebrated Poshan Pakhwada from 16th to 31st March, 2021. Focusing on nutrition in a big way, the central government had launched the Poshan Pakhwada across the country to mark the first anniversary of the POSHAN Abhiyan Addressing nutritional challenges through Food Forestry and organizing Poshan Panchayats are the key focus areas for Poshan Pakhwada 2021. To address nutritional challenges, distribution of 4 saplings of nutrition rich plants per Anganwadi Centre (AWC) in the Aspirational Districts was done under the supervision of local panchayat and DM/DC by National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Ministry of AYUSH. This will cater to the nutritional challenges .The ministry is also organizing the awareness campaign on the topics including the malnutrition prevalence and its consequences, food forestry, Poshan Vatika, identification of SAM children and its management.
With regards to POSHAN PAKHWADA the NSS volunteers from the MEDALLIONS OF NCN had arranged an awareness class on MARCH 31st 2021 at Vaniyamkulam PRIMARY HEALTH CARE CENTRE . The programe included awareness classes & chart exhibition regarding balanced diet, malnutrition, it’s consequences & identification of SAM children and its management .People came for the OPD sessions & immunization at the PHC had attended the session. These kind of awareness programmes invites citizens to share good nutrition practices and contribute towards a healthier India.
