Reboot Hackathon 2020
NSS Engineering College, Palakkad, won first place in the Reboot Hackathon 2020, organized by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala and the Additional Skill Acquisition Program (ASAP) at Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology (promoted by Nehru Group of Institutions), Lakkidi. The participating teams were tasked with finding solutions to water and environmental issues; the winning prize was awarded for the presentation of a system to deal with climate change disasters caused by wind.
Second place was awarded to St. Joseph College of Engineering, Pala for finding ways to make water distribution safer and more efficient, with third place going to Government Engineering College, Kannur, for developing a mitigation system for wind-related disasters.
Palakkad MP Sri.V.K. Srikantan inaugurated the prize distribution ceremony and handed out cash prizes of Rs.50,000 to the winning team, Rs.30,000 to the first runner-up, and Rs.20,000 to the second runner-up. Principal Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Smt. Usha Titus, IAS, presided over the function along with Adv. Dr. P. Krishnadas, Chairman & Managing Trustee, Nehru Group of Institutions, ASAP Polytechnic Colleges State Coordinator Sri. T.V. Francis and District Program Manager Sri. Nishant Narayanan.
