TWO DAYS WORKSHOP ON ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE

1. Following eminent personalities have participated as Resource persons.

• T.V.Venkateswaran, Scientist –F, VigyanPrasar, DST, New Delhi. He is also popular for the article “Pattam” published on Mondays in Dinamalar daily Newspaper.

• ArunNagalingam, Hargobind Khorana ChildrenScience Centre, Puducherry.
• G.Kannabiran, Galilio Science Club, Udumalpet
• K.Vasudevan, VIBHA, Erode Dt.

2. 60 Participants from various parts of the state have participated in the programme. The participants are teachers, Head masters, Social activists, Industrialists and astronomers.

3. Workshop mainly focuses on the Annular Solar Eclipse that will be visible on 26^th December 2019. Our Coimbatore has nearly 93% of solar eclipse visibility chances on 9:30 AM on the above said date. We can enjoy the eclipse with safety instrument for nearly 3 minutes if the sky was clear. Scientists and astronomers from all over the world will be available here at Coimbatore.
