National conference on Green Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Team NSM conducted an national conference on Green Logistics and Supply Chain Management on 10th January 2019. This conference focus was to impart great knowledge on the recent trends in green logistics and supply chain management as we are in the generation of such pollutants and also to examine the methods to mitigate this by-product of modern business activity.
Logistics and supply chain management are an integral part of business activity today. They are crucial drivers of globalization as well. As such, these activities are responsible for a large share of greenhouse gas emissions. There is a great need to study and examine this area in order to wake up the society to go – green.
The welcome address for the program was delivered by Ms. Anitha Narayan, Assistant Professor and faculty co-ordinator of GLSCM. Dr. Sheela Srivastava, Director NSM@NCERC delivered the prologue. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. T. Ambikadeviamma, Principal, NCERC. Mr. Pradeep P.S, CEO and founder of Farmer’s Fresh Zone Delivered the inaugural address sharing his personal experiences of sustaining the green environment while dealing with green products. Later after the tea break, A Key note address was delivered by Mr. S R Krishnan, highlighting the main concepts of logistics and the effect of climate change. Post lunch, the presentation tracts were held which was Chaired by Mr. Onasis Lazar, Founder and CEO of International Academy of Logistics Management. The program came to an end with the valedictory session.
