EXPERT TALK ON GST BY Shri. BIJU K JACOB – Nehru School of Management
An expert talk on GST has been conducted on 01st November 2018 by Shri. Biju K Jacob (Superintendant of Central Tax & Central Excise, Kunnamkulam Range) from 10 am to 12.30pm at Nehru School of Management, NCERC, Pampady. The program included session on GST and the students found it really useful. All the major concepts regarding GST were discussed and this program brought a successful output. His talk included the implementation of GST in India, the formation of GST council and further his talk highlighted how GST subsumes many central and state Taxes. It is a destination based consumption tax providing seamless flow of credit and avoids cascading affect of tax. Towards the end of the session, the students were given an opportunity to clear their doubts or queries if any which made it a more interactive session.
